I am so glad that my hero, Dick Cheney is alive and well due to the many fantastic surgeons who have operated on his heart. It is because of you heart surgeons that he has brought forward so many worthy and caring issues to the American people and have liberated all the evil countries promoting war and terror across the world. Thank you very much.

yes you are right.....I have gone through this surgery and they no longer cut your leg from the ankle to the thigh...just small incisions to retrieve the needed arteries..Mine was a triple bypass....

yah i tough it was a really rudimentary procedure
btcmomma (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
This is a pretty outdated form of the procedure. As a cardiac nurse in an American hospital, I will tell you 90% of our surgeries are done off pump (heart remains beating). And the greater saphenous vein is harvested through the use of a scope so the patients do not have that huge incision and staples down their leg/s. There is no comparison in post op recovery.

Tis true. CABG has never been proven to prolong life more than drugs. |
